Where we are based
Malton is not a service area for us the way York or Scarborough are. It is where the business is, where the plant is kept, and where most of the people who work here live. A good deal of our work never crosses the river.
In practice that means we can look at a job here quickly, and it makes small work worth doing that would not be worth the travelling somewhere else. If you have one pothole at the end of a drive in Malton or Norton, ring us.
The kind of work we do around Malton and Norton
The town is a mixture. Terraced streets with back lanes where nothing wider than a small machine will fit, so a lot of it is hand laid. Older houses with long shared drives that half a dozen households use and nobody owns. Newer estates where the drives are twenty or thirty years old and coming to the end of their first surface.
Across the river Norton is much the same, and we treat the two as one place because they are.
Farms and land on the Wolds edge
Malton sits where the Wolds meet the Vale of Pickering, and that shows up in the work. Farm access tracks that carry loaded trailers in harvest and then sit wet all winter, yards that need draining before they need surfacing, and entrances off B roads that have to take an artic turning in.
That sort of job is usually groundworks first and surfacing second, and getting the drainage right is most of it.
Business premises
There is a fair amount of commercial and light industrial around the town, and the work there tends to be yards, loading areas and car parks that have been patched for years and want doing properly rather than patched again.
